The workshop also connected and brought together factories, experts, service providers, consultancies and the financial sector, providing practical solutions on factory level for climate friendly measures. It was mainly addressed to Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers of adidas and other brands.

The event focused mainly on renewable energy, energy efficiency and financing options and aimed to answer questions such as: How can we collectively drive climate action? What are brands’ expectations? What is the relevance for suppliers? How can you improve the carbon footprint of your production and who can help you do that? The workshop also addressed questions on: How is carbon reduction related to the factory, what role do suppliers reduction roadmaps play and how is it linked to the brands?

Finally, it introduced different support options that can help suppliers in their journeys. To link the discussions to the global agenda, including the UNFCCC climate convention, the topic of target setting at factory level was included as well. While the event was conducted in Viet Nam, mainly addressing Vietnamese suppliers, it included elements of regional learning, for example by inviting regional experts by Pakistan and by including service regional providers.
